Ok boys this is game day! I'm feeling nervous, this is like the show down with the school bully and it's almost home time. I need to make some predictions so I can say "I told you so" when they happen.
First off this is not a series we can win by simply playing well, we need a combination of Cleveland not playing optimal basketball and us playing really well or Raptors playing extremely elite basketball which we have not seen for more than 2 consecutive quarters in my opinion. We have to respect this team, they are the defending champions and any stubborn decisions from Casey will cost us, we can't be too proud to try anything against this team. Sadly I don't see Casey suddenly seeing the light and becoming a great in game strategist over night.
I know how to guard Lebron James wether you like it or not we need to make Lebron a scorer and let him eat, eat a lot. Do not I repeat do not throw double teams at him, he is an elite passer who will pick us apart and get his plethora of shooters going, which is blow out city population us. Think about all the big scoring games superstars have had, a majority of them are losses or close wins. Teams that blow other teams out usually have a very balanced attack.
For God sakes Start PJ Tucker on Lebron, he will still eat but at least he will be working for it. I can not explain how bad Carroll was on Lebron last year. I have no clue what impact or usage JV will get, but hopefully it's positive.
Don't let some random go off, let's say Daron Williams steps into a time machine and gets out in 2007. We will be in trouble, they have so many guys who can go off already.
Kyle Lowry has to out play Kyrie, not an easy task. Dergozin has to play elite, and make good decisions out of the double team. The X factor in this series needs to be Ibaka not Love. Bottom line is our margin for error is much slimmer than Cleveland.
We need to steal one in Cleveland and game 1 is as good as any, if we don't get one it could be a short series. Cavs have not been playing great defense, we will be able to score but offensive droughts like the ones against the Bucks will be nails in the coffin.
Cheers G.
